History
CACRAO was established in 1970 through the union of the North Carolina Chapter and the South Carolina Chapter of the national organization (AACRAO).
Affiliation
CACRAO is affiliated with the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions officers (SACRAO) and with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
Membership
More than 1,200 persons employed in the areas of admissions, registration, and records hold membership in CACRAO. Almost every college and university in North and South Carolina is an institutional member of CACRAO.
Association Financing
CACRAO is primarily funded by annual membership dues contributed by member institutions. Other financial sources include annual meeting member and exhibitor registration fees. CACRAO sponsored activities fees, and corporate sponsorship for special activities.

CACRAO, Inc. is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Because we are not an organization described in section 170(c) of the Code, donors may not deduct contributions made to CACRAO.
